If you're looking for an oasis hidden away in plain sight for your portrait session, consider the Smithsonian Castle Gardens right off of the National Mall. Amishi + Adrian chose this amazing location for their engagement photos on a Summer evening and the end result was just stunning!

Not only did Amishi & Adrian choose this location for the beauty, but this place also holds a very special memory for them in their journey as a couple. Whenever I am asked, "Where should we take our photos?" I always suggest thinking of a place that is memorable to you and your partner - where you had your first kiss, your proposal spot, a special date you remember, etc. No matter the place, we can always get beautiful portraits that portray YOU and YOUR love.

Amishi & Adrian knew they needed photos for their wedding website and Save the Dates, however with busy schedules and quickly changing Spring to Summer weather, we were quickly going through possible dates on the calendar. They opted to have their session on a weekday after work, and even though Summer rains were threatening to be a part of their session, the weather decided to cooperate that evening.
I highly suggest a weekday session, as it can provide much less crowded locations, more predictable timing to make it to your session, and you will be less likely to feel pressured to leave your session to make it to the next event in your weekend plans.

Adrian proposed to Amishi at the mesmerizing Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, Adrian's home country. I loved to see little details of Amishi's outfit that brought a little flavor of Bolivia, featuring subtle traditional woven textiles.

Fitting for an adventurous couple, Amishi & Adrian will be saying their "I Do's" in Mexico in 2023, and their friends and family could not be happier to celebrate with them!

Congratulations on your engagement!
Did these photos get you excited about having an engagement session of your own? Do you have a proposal planned? Or perhaps you want to document your upcoming anniversary with your sweetheart? Let me know so we can capture you and your loved one!
Hugs,
Gabriela
