M + J | #GeorgetownGlow2019

I am so glad that Mercelis and Jon were willing to walk around Georgetown, D.C. while taking photos in front of a total stranger! Meeting Mercelis and Jon is another reminder of how much I love what I do - and the totally awesome people my camera allows me to meet.

Shortly after recovering from my own wedding planning journey, I was desperate to get back to shooting. As a member of the Zola Community on Facebook, I reached out to local couples willing to meet up with me in Washington, D.C., shoot some photos, and share wedding planning advice, exchange questions, and share frustrations (which we all know come as a natural part of planning the biggest party you'll ever throw). Mercelis and Jon were one of the firsts to show interest, and I knew early on that they'd be a cool couple to connect with. As it turns out, M + J met about 10 years ago, reconnected in 2014, and are excited to tie the knot on May 1st of this year (CONGRATS YOU TWO!!!). I am so grateful for having spent a good time talking all things wedding, and shooting with you two!

Mercelis and Jon were so cool in being down to explore Georgetown, not only at night, but in the cold of December, when it just so happened that the Georgetown Glow installations were up throughout the city.
